my computer is lagging and glitchy so my posts are all delayed... and now it's not even typing some letters that I'm typing...apparently it needs to "shut down completely " and then restart in order to preform an update ...

Sounds like Windows to me. I switched to Linux (Ubuntu) a while ago and haven't looked back.

Ubuntu is fantastic if you have a Nexus device and fully understand simple adb to run simple commands. Since moving to Ubuntu Linux I have rooted 3 Nexus device types all using command line. As far as apps and usability, it is great. My lappy is an Intel Celeron and Ubuntu 12.10 runs like a bawse on this thang. Can't complain.

The one thing I can say as far as comparing it to Windows is that there isn't bloat. And that is huge. Super huge. My system has only what I put on it, ever.
