Root tracking down the cause of random reboots

I just started experiencing random reboots on my MT. I am running CM7-Reloaded-012512. I haven't done any package installs or removals other than removing the NCAA 2012 app that cbssports put out.

Is there any way to see some log files after these random reboots to see what the offending app might be? Evernote just had an update that was installed which could be causing the problem, but I wanted to do a little investigating before I just started randomly removing applications. Thanks for the heads up.
 
That's tough man.
The easiest thing to do would be a fresh install and slowly add apps back from the market or from titanium back up, being sure to restore app only... no data.
The other common reboot issue is undervolting/over clocking, so just make sure you start at stock speeds/voltages until you get stable.

It rebooted 4 times in an hour. I decided to just download CM7-Reloaded-032512 and update to it. Will wait and see if the update with the cache and dalvik wipes fixes the issue.

I had also installed the Kayak app three or four weeks ago and decided to remove it.
 
First thing you always do if you have issues like that is try a fresh install with data wipe.
Saves a bunch of hassle.

I've been on 3.25 since 3/25 with no issues. Overclocked to 1.5 GHz and undervolted -50mv (-75 at lowest clockspeed).
 
I experienced random reboots. It happened to me when i was getting a weak VM Signal and had a good WiFi Signal
When I started to shutdown the Wifi the reboots stopped
 
I second what Thangfish has said. Do a wipe and fresh install. Then re-install apps one at a time and make sure that they are not causing it. DO NOT USE Titanium Backup (or something like it) to restore apps.
 
wipe & fresh install did not fix mine, mine reboots and gets hung on boot when it's plugged into a power source

if it's unplugged it does not reboot
 
Task or app killers can cause this too. When I first got the triumph, i was using one of those task killers. my phone would reboot regularly. after i stopped using it, no more reboots. Reboots can be triggered by killing non-system apps because they are hooked into the system files in some fashion.

I had two freezes for the first time this morning also: once just sitting there and another when I keyed for voice input (which makes me wonder about the Google Voice Search update yesterday).

Prior to this, I was having random reboots (and performance hitches) on the 04 Mar build but I had just bought the phone and installed a bunch of apps, so it could have been anything. I wiped, installed 25 Mar build and installed apps slowly. I've only had two random reboots and they both coincided with using Voxer, so that is suspect atm. Additionally, my news widget quits flipping through headlines and it seems to coincide with some Voxer usage as well. (Its such a useful app; I'd hate to have to get rid of it.)

I installed a log viewer but it only shows entries since boot, which isn't useful in this context; does anyone have any suggestions for viewing logs prior to last boot?

I dont use any task killer, I dont even use the phone, I turned it on last night, I just looked at it, and it's stuck in a reboot again
 
I was having many of the same issues on cm7 reloaded. I switched to miui and it has been much more stable on my particular phone. Even though I really liked cm7 I also much prefer the stability I have now. Maybe try another rom....
 
I quit updating about two builds back and I've never had a reboot . Turned on wi fi the other day for something and forgot to turn it off and rebooted twice. Turned it off and no reboots since

Does it behave the same way whether it is plugged into the wall or into a computer's USB port?
 
I was having random reboots until I set my sleep policy.
Go into your advanced Wi-Fi settings and set the W-Fi sleep policy to never.
 
I've had my Triumph since the day they became available.
NEVER has randomly rebooted....until today.

My girlfriend sent a text that she was breaking up with
me and my phone rebooted!

I guess the phone took it harder than i did.

Kinda sucks, but I got a laugh out of it at least.
