Whether these words come from his publicist or his own heart, I accept them. Heck I accepted his first apology. It could have been very easy for him to say it was all a joke, or even deny what he said altogether because it all seemed to have come from one person's account.

He's really taking action on this, which is great. Glad that he's trying to make amends and help others at it too.

While I have no doubt that his motives are largely to cover his own tush where his employment (and salary) is concerned, I hope he takes a lot out of the things he's planning to do, like talk to GLBT youth who have been disowned by their parents. I have no doubt that his rant stemmed from some of his actual feelings about homosexuality (instead of just trying to be funny), so maybe this will be a great learning experience for him. Something positive can definitely come out of all this.

He has the right to say whatever he wants. You don't like it then don't watch his show or pay attention to him. Simple really. Free speech is thankfully protected. For now...
Why didn't she press charges? Sounds like there were plenty of witnesses.

This reminds me a bit of Mel Gibson's anti-Semitic statements a few years back. Fact is, if it matters to enough people, their paycheck (the actor's) will be hurt. If not, well, it's clearly not a big enough deal to enough people. Also, we are free, as individuals, to stop supporting any actor's career on any merits (or lackthereof) we deem necessary. Sucks what he said, but it's probably not going to change how I view him as an actor.

That's what we tried to get her to do, but she was too scared. Backing down wasn't something she usually did, so we didn't push it too hard.
