Root Transfer contacts from computer to phone

I have a contacts list file on my computer and on the evo 4g but I don't know where to copy it to so it will show up on my phone list can you please help ??

If I restore the Nandroid backup my phone will go back to the way it was before rooting..
Does this mean I have to root it all over again ?

The contacts list on your computer...what format is it in?
Or on your Evo..is it on the sd card?

The nandroid you made will not be of an unrooted rom state.
I assume the nandroid you have was made right after you rooted correct?
If so, it will restore everything to that point in time. You will not lose root.

o.k...I made you your own thread here.

So, you rooted your phone and made a nandroid backup.

Now the issue is you do not see your contacts on your phone now?

After much guessing and banging my head on concrete walls, I think I've answered my questions. I went into "colornotes" by just pushing down on the avatar and it gave me several versions, I gues it automatically backsup on it's own, I picked the latest backup and picked "restore" and there it is....
The contacts, I converted the "contact file" to a vs file then opened it up and imported it to people. AND there it is............
I wanna thank you fopr all your help though you are the BEST

I would recommend also that you save them to your google/gmail account.
Then you wouldn't have to worry about backing them up as they will auto sync from your google account when you sign in again after a rom flash. :)

I have no contacts saved to my phone itself...they are all on google.
fwiw :)

I'm happy you got your contacts back tho!!

also another idea is to enter your contacts thru gmail as well. you contacts in gmail will also sync with your phone as well. i also keep all my contacts sync'ed with google as well.
