I really don't like the way Ro exited from the show. Maybe that was the point? (we can discuss that when you get there.)
We just got to the episode with everyone's favourite Bajoran - Ensign Ro.
Haven't seen Wes for a good few episodes. Not that I'm complaining, but maybe he was in the middle of real school exams, or something?

Tasha was a gold shirt and she snuffed it.![]()

My brother has attended a bunch of them when he was living in California. Yeah, it's a money grab, but he's got some very fond memories of meeting the actors who played his heroes of younger years. Is it worth it? I dunno.
I saw Chuck Mangione live in concert when i was in college and i've always admired his music. Years later he performed locally and i was excited to go. While the music was still good, i was a little taken aback to see how he's aged, I'd don;t know if I'd pay to see Shatner or anyone from TOS.
I have visions of queuing for hours, then 10 seconds of meeting your idol, and paying an extortionate amount for the privilege. I could be doing it a disservice though.
We'd obviously have to attend in character. I'm thinking I may go as Lt Cmdr Data. Pics may be posted here.

Go as Riker, then you can take your Trombone.![]()
Has anyone been to a Star Trek convention?
Daughter has expressed interest in attending the 'Destination Star Trek' event in Birmingham (UK). I've looked at the guest list, and there are some big names there. Shatner, obviously, plus characters from Next Generation and other series. The cynical part of me thinks it's a massive fan money gouging exercise. Autographs costing up £65 each! I can see how they can make a living from attending these events.
I've had a look at reviews for the 50th anniversary one, held in 2016, and it appeared to be a shambles in terms of organisation. So not sure about this one. Tickets are expensive, and I guess you'll end up spending a lot more for merchandise, and maybe photos/autographs.
Daughter seems keen though, so maybe I'll do it anyway. Plus, Dr Crusher's going to be there!![]()
I know @NightAngel79 regularly attends the granddaddy of them all ... comic con. I don't know how it stacks up to a Trek-con, but he really enjoys them.

Tickets booked!! Daughter wants to go in costume, so that's full nerd status then!![]()
The £65 was for Shatner. But the other actors are much more reasonable. Marina Sirtis (Councillor Troy) is a mere £25. Yeah I know, not my first choice, but the selection is limited, and I read that she was really good with people. Will be great though to meet one of the actual actors, hope I don't get too starstruck.
Any suggestions on what I could ask her?
Did she like Jonathan Frakes beard?
