Triumph Battery on eBay

I'm now running Tickerguy's CM7 and getting double to triple battery life. Insanely better. I also just got my 3 pack + charger in the mail, so I'll be testing that out as well.

Generic Battery Motorola Triumph, Motorola WX435 FB0-2 | eBay

$20 a pop. Anyone wanna try one out and report back on the performance compared to the stock battery?

I haven't used that battery in particular. I noticed that is 1400mah just like the stock battery for the Triumph.

I use this one: New Anker 1500mAh Battery for Motorola Triumph ML-M071 FB0-2 FB02 | eBay

It is a 1500mah battery and I can personally say battery is significantly better. It has a higher capacity and lasts longer.. marginally. But if you're going to replace the battery, why not go for a 1500mah instead of a 1400mah (1380mah to be exact).. especially since it's only $12.99 :D
It's also the same size as the stock battery so no need for a special battery door or anything.

I also purchased the 3 battery + charger that jl13 got.

The charger was a bitch to figure out. I got the thing to start with a red led that turned blue when (I think??) the battery was charged. The charger is a royal pain in the ***.

I'm sorry to say the batteries were a disappointment. The first few cycles were okay, but they soon began to run out much sooner that the OEM motorola.

Please inform me if I have done something wrong in my use of them.

retromine
was that question directed to me?
If so, It didn't take longer to recharge.

My complaints with the three batteries plus charger package from ebay:

1. battery charger is awkward to use.
2 the battery life is shorter than oem

There's a mugen extended battery for the huawei ideos X6 (will work with the triumph)

I picked up one of the 1600 mah cheapy Chinese ones.

Was about comparable to the stock battery for around 2 weeks, now it lasts significantly less than the original as far as daily use. Probably to be expected for $4.90.

1600mAh Power Battery For Motorola Triumph WX435 New | eBay

beers, I too purchased these batteries. I bought the 3x pack with the universal charger from eBay. I'll be running a review over time since I just received these batteries a few days ago.

Initial impressions:
It's a big battery pack. It barely fits with the stock case. But with a little finessing it's fine. It looks like it stresses the back case by bulging out.

I've had poor readings with my first use of the battery. I plopped it in and charged for a few hours, while it was real slow to charge, hit 60-70% indicated. I then used it for about 2 hours of light to medium use and the battery died. Perhaps it hasn't calibrated? Not sure. Today I will charge it to the maximum and give it a go. (was running 0.6.5+wifi during this day, from now on running ICS 0.6.7 no wifi)

The Universal charger works fine. I get it to work by aligning the prongs into slot 1 & 2. Consider the 3 prongs of the stock motorola battery. + on left, - on right. The universal charger hits the plus and the middle prongs to charge. Remember: the sticker on the aftermarket battery shows the WRONG polarity.

When you align the battery correctly the light will turn blue even if it's not plugged in to indicate it's properly connected. When it's plugged in and charging it turns Red. When it's done it flips back to blue. It's cheap and flimsy, sometimes it doesn't charge and you need to fiddle with it. Otherwise it works. Charges at a similar rate to the stock wall charger.

I recently purchased the "

2x 1600mAh Battery For Motorola Triumph WX435 New + Wall Charger | eBay
" that is for sale on eBay.

The package arrived in two weeks, two weeks less than the estimate. Cost shipped - $11.50. I promptly ran the AnTuTu battery test - https://market.android.com/details?id=com.antutu.tester&hl=en. Here are my results (bigger is better):

Original Motorola Triumph Battery: 367
New eBay battery 1: 402
New eBay battery 2: 405

That is about a 10% improvement from the original. Not bad considering the price I paid. If the score for the new battery was the same as the original I'd be happy. For comparison, another Forum poster got an AnTuTu reading from their Motorola battery of 341, http://androidforums.com/motorola-triumph/458449-antutu-tester-battery-test-score.html

The universal phone battery charger IS funky as mentioned above. But it does work and mine has a USB charger outlet for charging the extra battery and the phone simultaneously. Note the AC charges at only 350mah, while the USB charges at 800mah. So the phone will charge much faster than an extra battery will. You will need your USB cable to use the USB charging feature.

I'll keep one extra battery in the car, for those times that all goes wrong.

I am using Whyzor's 2-18 ROM and can't say enough good things about him or the functionality of this ROM. My battery life with this ROM is 2x the stock ROM. http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/470282-rom-cm7-tg-reloaded-latest-02-18-a.html

With this ROM and these new batteries I am invincible!

So how are you guys doing with the Anker batteries? Getting a new phone and deciding whether to "splurge" for the Ankers vs getting similar $15 3 packs. My ebay ones for the triumph last just shy of 2/3 as long as the OEM.

I haven't done any scientific testing, but in my experience I've noticed little difference between the Anker and OEM batteries.

I've used both the Anker battery from Amazon for $15 and 2 Chinese generics for $7 a pair shipped off of Ebay. They're all pretty comparable to the stock battery in my use. Also I now have 5 spare Motorola batteries that I've acquired in the last month due to Virgin having to send me 4 class A replacements trying to get lucky and find a phone without camera issues. I think that I'm pretty well set in the battery department. :D As to the universal charger it's impossible to insert the battery incorrectly because the charger has auto polarity built in. Also the usb outlet can also be used as an input so that you're able to use it as an external car charger as well.

Wow! No, I haven't tried it. But I've become very skeptical of these batteries on eBay lately. Saw numerous tests where some even took less charge than stock battery.

Your skepticism is warranted however we have to be realistic, having an el-cheapo $4 battery for emergencies can't really compare to manufacturer batteries that normally sell for $25 to $35. Plus it seems the only way to get an original battery is through Virgin as a replacement for a dead one or as a freebie with a replacement phone. I have been unable to find a source for the Motorola battery anywhere.

Anyone try out the 2000mAh battery yet?
I just received the 2000mAh Ideos X6 in the mail today. I found 2 for $8.88 and figure for that price I, at the very least, have a spare battery. I might be selling the other one if anyone is interested (face value of course $4.44). I will update you on performance.

Can you give us an update on this battery? I'm looking for another battery....hopefully one that lasts longer.

I just purchased a Triumph recently, and also got the 2000mAh "Max Power" battery on eBay for ~$5 to go with it. I haven't used the stock battery much to have much of a comparison, but this one seems to be doing well, I've got 24hrs of light usage with it. My main battery drain is the 1 bar signal, so I try keeping 3g off, or have wifi on instead. After 3 complete cycles, I will now try to maintain the battery in the 30% - 90% range, and use the stock battery from time to time to give it some exercise as well.

Here are some people on YouTube that got a 2000mAh battery:

Sorry for not getting back to you guys. The problem is I have been switching from CM7 to CM9 and back to CM7. It's hard to do a comparison to the stock battery for that reason. I can tell you that running CM7 Reloaded I can easily get 24 hours on a charge with WiFi on. I have been experimenting with the governors available with CM7 and find the power savers are slow waking up the phone and give some power saving. Other work better but consume more juice.

I also run Juice Defender Ultimate but I do not tinker with it's settings too much because things can get really messed up if you do.

I guess that for $4.44 each, it's not a bad deal for a spare/replacement battery.

FYI, I do have two extra batteries (2000mAh) if someone wants to grab them. Just let me know (got 4, it's a long story).

Thanks Guys!!! That "Max Power" battery looks interesting. I see where they sell two with a charger for cheap.

I have been doing some testing using CM9 and here are my results.

Using the stock battery, with a full charge using the Interactive Governor setting, the meter was down to %70 after just 1 1/2 hours.

Using the Max Power 2000mAh battery with the same settings after 5 hours the meter was sitting at %69.

This is with "normal" usage such as checking email, chatting on the phone etc. It seems like the battery performs better when you first install it, but gets worse as it gets used. I guess your mileage may vary.
