Root triumph camera trouble

Hello all, this is not a question of when will CM 9 get a working camera (although I hope its soon). I put CM7 from MTDEV on my triumph, when I went to use the camera, it worked fine. Then I went to use the front facing camera and it said it was unable to communicate with the camera and force closed. I could not use the rear facing camera after that. I had to reinstall CM7. (I tried Sharp2.2 and U9000 and had bad camera experiences with them too on this particular phone.) I have another MT that both cameras work fine on. What do you guys, and girls, think could be the problem, and how, if possible, can I fix it. If I never switch to the front facing camera, it works and stays working.Which is ok, but I would like to figure it out. I bought the phone used on this forum, so I cant return it. Thanks for any thoughts.

You've might've carried parts of another ROM onto your current ROM.

Download cm7 again along with gapps (20110828), to eliminate the possibility of a bad download.

Put it on your SD card

Recovery --> Wipe data/factory reset
Mounts and storage --> format cache, format system
Advanced --> wipe dalvik cache.

Then install CM7 and gapps.

That process should remove any software-related problems.

This is a little excessive, but would work as would be expected. In CWR, when you do a factory reset, you format /data and /cache. Dalvik cache is under /cache and should be cleared when /cache is formatted. When you load one of our ROM$ you format
/system. And as far as the ROM goes, I would check the ckecksum before flashing any ROM.
