Root Triumph not recognized by computer

I connected my Triumph to the my computer but it didn't recognize it was connected to a computer. The charge led comes on and it charges fine, but it doesn't seem to know that it's connected to a computer. I tried the included ecomoto cable and the USB cable from my sister's HTC One V. Did the same thing with both cables. I am running MTDEV-CM7 12/28. Is my USB port broken? So is it a software issue?

Start with the basics, does your computer have the drivers? Is the phone set for USB debugging (settings--> Aplications--> USB debugging)?

I did at the time but disabling it doesn't help. When it's connected to the computer, I don't hear the Device Connect sound and nothing is listed in Device Manager. It's worked on this computer before.

Yeah, my Epic does that too. I haven't figured it out, but I read that the USB port could be the cause. For me I'm going to try to use on of the rear ports on the computer.

Just got home and I was able to connect to the Epic through the back panel USB port. I don't know if that would help you or not.

I've had that before too, not with my phone, but with other usb stuff. It wouldn't recognize the connection through an external hub (that worked with various other devices) but worked fine directly to a rear port.
Never figured out exactly what the deal was.

The best I can gather is it's a hub thing. Many front USB ports are actually connected to a hub, logically speaking.
