Root Trouble Rooting my Desire

I guess you'll want a2sd once you've realised what it can do for you. Go to the market and download rom manager, in the menu you'll find sd card actions, create a ext3 of 512 and a 0 swap.

I don't know what exactly is asking you to mount sd but a simple format in windows or in rom manager should sufficiently mount your sd drive.

I just open in from my computer and place it on the SD card, then follow the directions?

Why do I need to create a ext3 of 512 and a 0 swap?

A2sd is one of the joys of rooting. Danfrance has a good explanation of it here. Just thought I'd help you kill two birds that's all.

(No animals were harmed in the writing of this post). Other A2SD FAQ's are available!
