True or False

False, some are becoming ineffective, but they just keep on developing new ones.

T/F?
There are more wild camels in Australia than any other country in the world.

Yep, camels were brought here in the early days for transport through our drier regions, when they were displaced by the advent of trucks most were turned loose to fend for themselves and now we export them to the middle east.

I'm inclined to say true, as there are spiders here that catch and eat birds.

T/F?
Australian Rules football is also known as aerial ping pong.

False. My '32 roadster was fitted with one. They're actually only referred to as an Ahooga horn either colloquially, or if they're a later reproduction. There was a company selling them as A-Hoo-Ga (or something similar) back in the seventies. They are actually klaxon horns.

Longfinned eels will travel overland when moving from one body of water to another.

That's about right, last one I bought was back in the early 70s.

I'm going to go with false on the eels as a guess. The ones that I'm reminded of by the name tend to stay in deep salt water. The only thing I know about both the salt and fresh water varieties is that I dislike the taste and one of them provides a good hyde.

Roadrunners do not make a beeping sound.

Crikey! You must be older than me!

They actually do go cross country, usually on a wet night or when there is a heavy dew. It's when they're migrating from salt to fresh. They spend the first part of their lives in the ocean (nobody's sure where) and then come back to land and go for the fresh to grow to adulthood.

As for the roadrunner, I'd say that'd be a bit of 'poetic licence' (ever seen a rabbit stick its paw/finger up the barrel of a gun voluntarily?) on the part of Warner Bros, so false.

Low voltage halogen downlights use more electrickery (as in current or amps used) than those UM3, encased curly microflouroescent downlights.

I'm going with true on that one.

I have trouble thinking up good questions. :p

In dry climates, you can achieve air conditioning by simply adding moisture to the air.

True for me!

And evaporative cooling is very real, our air conditioner is a big box on the roof with a fan sucking dry air through a wet pad arrangement and blowing it into the house.

It doesn't work when it gets humid and does keep you from literally drying out.

T/F
They're called swamp coolers.

I'll say true..but Hillbilly Humidifier has a nice ring to it too!:p:p

every US president has worn glasses

We warned that the presidency would make them go blind and they didn't listen, so we have term limits to make them stop when they need glasses.

True.

T/F
Someone here did not get that joke, probably everyone under 30.
