Trying to return to STOCK Hero

I did a wipe and reflashed cyanogenmod 7 but keep having same issues. Dropping calls, texts not going through, rebooting when using gps, hanging up. Never had these problems b4 so just figured I would start fresh.

Lucky - You might want to try going back to CM6 - or using one of Jaybobs Build....They have been more stable.

Try going into the device manager and finding your handset in the list. You can try uninstalling the driver and then reinstalling it.

Sometimes "Error 140" is a driver problem. Also, try running the Android 2.1 RUU executable twice in a row and see if that works.

Tried your suggestion LB and still same thing. Thanks for the help guys. Probably just going to try a different rom and c how it goes...

i rooted my phone and downloaded the metamorph app....wen i applied a theme it rebooted but got stuck between the "htc quietly brilliant" screen and the " NOW" screen......how do i get it out of that?

Try booting into recovery and wiping your cache and Dalvik cache. That might clear up the issue.

Unfortunately, themes can sometimes have wacky effects on certain ROMs. I hope that you made a Nandroid backup of your ROM before you applied the theme.

speaking of going to ruu... is this necesary to hook up the phone? i have an old rooted hero that i installed an aosp rom on and i want to give it to my mom to use. but sprint says they cant hook her number up to it because the phone is rooted. is this true?

You need an HTC Sense based ROM to activate your Sprint HTC Hero on Sprint. An AOSP ROM will not work because it lacks part of the software to initiate itself with Sprint the first time it is activated.

You can restore your original Nandroid of your stock Android 2.1 ROM from way. You can also just flash an HTC Sense based ROM like Liquid Sense 2.1 and that should work with activating on Sprint as well.

That should be alright. If all else fails, just return your handset to stock via the Android 2.1 RUU.

I hope that all goes well. Good luck.
