Did you try all the usual things? Install then uninstall HTC Sync, redownload unrevoked or revolutionary(depending on hboot)? Try a different cable or usb port? Make sure antivirus and pdanet(if installed) are disabled?
Have you checked device manager and seen if there is an issue in there (Yellow Triangle) Sometimes Windows installs drivers and still goes "DUH" so you have to remove them and reinstall them. (This requires a reboot) Try that make sure you have no issues in device manager and then try again.
