Root Trying to root

But I am having trouble installing the drivers.
I did the first driver, but I am trying to update the driver for ADB. I point it to the folder I downloaded for the drivers, and it comes back saying it can't find it. Any ideas?

uninstall htc sync
uninstall all the drivers
remove the htc drivers
reinstall htc sync
uninstall htc sync but leave the drivers
connect device and let windows sort it out
you should be left with one "unknown" "adb device" or something like that
make sure when you click "update drivers" you click "let me choose" then click "pick from a list" then "have disk".
you should then be able to navigate to the correct folder and choose the adb driver

I never had HTC Sync installed. Just downloaded the drivers.

When I try to direct it to the driver, I can't find it in the folder. I dont get it.

Also, when I have UnRevoked3 open, and connect my phone, it doesnt do anything. just sits there.

Doing it yourself is lot more fun :-) like a child with a new toy !!! It feels awesome. Only thing is to spend some time going thru threads, faq, guides.

do it in the exact order i stated

the reason you need to do it in this way is that the device gets detected wrong and you might assign a driver to the wrong device connection as there are about 5 things it loads into windows.
