Root trying to save sd

well, my card cant be read on the pc when i used the adapter or the diff phones i tried. i put it in my camera and it said "read only memory change to internal memory". so then, i plugged the camera to the pc. it showed the files, but would not allow a deletion or format. I just want to know if i jus gotta get a new 8gb card, or can it b saved??

I know you said other phones wont read it, but, on your adapter, is there a slide "lock"?

o.k...sometimes, when I have used an adapter and put it in computer, the slide lock will lock as it is slid into computer...
Did this all of a sudden happen? Do you remember what was done before the "unreadable card" issue?
hmmmm...I will think about this some more also....

Just thought I would mention this...

I have seen in other threads that sometimes SD cards used in an Android phone can only be read in the Android phone.

Just a suggestion, I would try putting the SD card back into the phone, them connect the phone to your computer via a USB cable and choose the option the 'mount' the phone as a Disk Drive.

I swear I need new glasses. Ok card is not readable on anything with exception to the camera. and then its read only. ok you need to get testdisk and see if you can recover the partition of the card and its contents. This is done on the computer so make sure you are messing with the correct drive.

This says that the card is readable to the camera but its access is limited. It acts like its internal memory with out permissions. Which suggest that there could be permissions that the camera doesn't understand so it gives read only permissions

seems to be more of a device issue than a SDCARD issue. Not that there is anything wrong with the device it just doesn't understand the LINUX file permissions. Most camera's are made to be compatible with Windows and Mac. LINUX is not a priority for most of these manufactures

EDITED: Ok if the camera can be used as a card reader then your card reader should work. unless there is an issue with the reader. I would put the card into the phone and go into recovery and do a usb toggle and see if you can access the card from there.

If you suspect Card issue in the future you can run the DOS commands that I gave you on the other thread. Also if you have other issues then get PHOTOREC to recover your files. This is a very powerful recovery. It is command line and not GUI. For a GUI try Recuva.

EDIT: I would get a new card if you still have issues with it. I also recommend getting a class 6 or higher 16gig Amazon has a Patriot for about $14. I have the 32 gig one and its a great card.

did you try to recover your files off the disk at least?

Sorry it wasn't a simple solution
