Turn off 4G LTE w/ Juice Defender?

Trying to find a way to toggle 4G/LTE. The only solution I have found so far is an app called "LTE OnOff" (essentially dialing *#*#4636#*#*), but none of the options I choose change the network status bar icon from 4G to Edge or 3G. So I don't know if it is working.

Has anyone tried the paid versions of Juice Defender on the Skyrocket to do this? Or any other app/work around?

juicedefender toggles the data connection itself, you can't disable just 4g

atleast i couldn't find the option for it

but it does disable the entire data radio when not in use, so the 4g isn't on, although neither is the 3g

Menu.settings.about phone.status

What is listed for "network"

That is what you are connected to.

Thus far the method you are using is the only one I have found and I believe it only works on the Rogers modem. I recall reading that menu is locked on the att modem.

All reviews have commented that there is simply no way of switching LTE on or off (and not only on the Skyrocket). Usually, as in 3G, the "downstepping" is handled by the carrier in areas where LTE is just too weak or not existent.

Possibly, just possibly, somebody would find a way of switching it on and off and an app on this would appear in the market. Or this switch would be enabled by AT&T when it updates the phones. So far, I have not noticed any really noxious effects of LTE to want to switch it off. Its effect on my battery life are really minimal. So, why not have it on???

It's not so much that I want to toggle between LTE and 4G(HSPA+), but rather to toggle those two off completely so I can sit on 3G or EDGE.
