Help Turn ONLY the phone off

rEvo Lver

Newbie
I can't figure out how to turn the phone off - not just vibrate but OFF.

The catch is that GPS and WiFi still have to be ON ON ON. So "Airplane Mode" doesn't cut it.

I'm using a Golf GPS app in a tournament and the phone need to be absolutely silent - but all the non phone functions still need to work.

I've turned the ringer down to vibrate but someone said they heard it go off/start buzzing.

What am I missing?

Ur not missing anything you can turn on airplane mode and still have wifi and gps on

If you turn the volume down all the way, the phone goes into vibrate mode. Click up ONCE on the volume control from there, and the phone goes into silent mode, no vibrate.

Dove Tailing off this question, is there a way to turn the phone off without using airplane mode? If you have airplane mode on, you can't use bluetooth as it is disabled. But say do not want to any of the carrier's services, then how would you disable to stop the phone from constantly searching?

I could have sworn that just like gps and wifi all you have to do is this

turn on airplaine mode
turn on wifi
turn on gps
turn on bt

I don't have my evo anymore to test but thought that is how I did it.

Have you guys tried any of the widgets for this? I know HTC includes a bunch of toggle widgets and android comes with the power control widget. With those you can just turn off what you don't want (Mobile Data) (some of them have the one for 2g(voice/sms) as well).
