guys

when i press the right side button to turn off the screen, it also locks it forcing me to key in the PIN even if i need to use the phone after a minute

Any app to help with that? Basically turn off the screen but don't lock the phone? I am rooted

Thanks

You can disable security, you can use any one of the numerous profiles apps to keep the screen from locking, or you can also use no lock.

Settings > security > screen lock > none

But obviously that means no pin, passcode, pattern or any kind of security.

That's how I roll.

Could also use a "lock delay" app....This way, OP can set the lock to require a password after a certain time...

do you have a corporate/exchange account synced to your phone? if so, then there is no way to change this setting for now. see this thread: Galaxy Nexus - lock screen issue - Google Mobile Help

That's how I did it for a while. Then I decided to go with just swipe.

I don't use any form of passcode or lock.

Yes do have an exchange account which enforces a 10 min timeout where it does a PIN lock. However, my phone is rooted and wondering if I can at least turn the screen off (don't mind it locking itself after 10 mins). A lock delay app would work but can't find one
