Root [Tutorial] Easy PRL change without using CDMA WS

Hello. I used your tutorial and everything went great. I got the OK in the log and installed 9033, but when I check it still says 2034. Any ideas? This was on a Metro S3. Thanks

Nevermind I figured it out. I found a video that helped me to figure out what I was doing wrong. There was one step that I missed because it wasnt in the written tutorial. After clicking SAMSUNG Android USB Diagnostic Serial Port I needed to click it again in the bottom window. Then it worked. Im not sure why I got OK's for all the lines in the log before adding this step, but anyway it worked. Didnt help though, still drop to 1x. Oh well, it was worth the new knowledge of changing PRL's.

What ROM are you using?

I'm using CTMod 3.80. I played around with it again, and was able to flash it. How do you know which PRL would work best? I'm in South Jersey. I searched the forums and a few people said 60681 was pretty good. Is it just trial and error?

When changing PRL its probably a good first step to Google if other people that are on your cell network (for example Boost uses Sprint) have changed the PRL and what is working for them. It may save a little bit of time going through the trial and error process. Also, when you have changed PRL, test it out for about a day before deciding that its right/wrong for you. Last, even though you can see speed increases when changing PRL, I still believe the #1 factor that determines your speed is the amount of users using the network at the time. Youll just about always get faster Speedtest results when testing at 3am compared to 3pm.
