Root Tutorial on PRL change boost to sprint

Newbie
i found an awesome post with very detailed instructions and screen shots for how to do this, and cant for the life of me after 40 mins find my way back to it.

i think it was by someone like rare evil or XxrarevilxX or something similiar.

anyone know the post im taking about? can you reply with a link so i can find my way back to it.

couple questions i had. i navigated everything fine until had to first send the default samsung SPC code, it didnt work and rebooted the phone.

there was a ton of options listed no samsung universal or default.

I ended having to find an older cdma workshop. The demo wouldn't allow any other prl than the worthless demo prl. It did come up under Samsung default though

thanks guys but i found both of those while searching and its neither. its very close and similar to the link from New Optimus but this one was better.

I started in the all things prevail root and section and was just educating myself and somehwere in all the newb info on rooting i found it.

he had screen shots of the prevail as you change settings but also of CDMA workshop.

it was really well done for newbs. i will find it - its going to drive me crazy.

I just found it!! Sorry for the confusion, deep in the black void of my brain the word precedent came to me and i realized i had found it under this phone not the prevail.

will this process still for the prevail or is it phone specific.

i know he starts by saying the device does not need to be rooted, i had read under prevail that it did?? whats the real deal here?
That is accurate for both phones, they are essentially the same phone minor differences to accommodate different carriers, though both running on sprint network.

no you dont have to be rooted to use this, the only thing you need root for is to find your msl using terminal emulator. But you can get your msl other ways.

I am unsure but I believe you can get your msl using cdma workshop I dont recall off hand the way though.

okay i went through this again and got it to work.

so im using sprint prl 11115 far west burbs of chicago.

i will try this for a week and hopefully see some improved signal and less dropped calls.
