TVCatchUp goes live for Android!!!

i would encourage all vodafone users to complain to them. It won't get fixed if you dont raise it as an issue.

Today I used my sim in an iphone and TV catch up streamed perfect put it straight back into my desire and again I cant connect to server, all of this is via 3G. Why does my same sim work in an iphone but not my HTC Desire. It seems a Desire issue rather than network to me??? I'm on Vodafone by the way.

Says it is unable to display the content for me, default browser on the HTC Desire. Anyone else getting that?

The guy that said o2 must be blocking the ports I agreee with you

I'm on O2 and haven't had any issues. It all depends on how good the signal is. I tried watching the footy last Friday when going round the M25 and in some places the picture was crystal clear, but in others I couldn't get a signal at all.

I assume vodafone are blocking the ports to encourage you to use their LIVE service and pay for the privilage.

I won't be staying with vodafone after this contract is up, if this is their game.

does anyone have any problems with yamgo / tvcatchup with any connection type? I've tried it on wifi and it still doesn't work. I've run a few packet captures and it looks like the phone is saying it doesn't like the version of RTSP the stream is using. Have tried a hard reset and it still won't connect. very frustrated...

Works fine on the Desire on wi-fi, not tried on 3g+ yet.

Can't get it to run on my PC tho!? Wants to download a playlist.m3u8 file - what am I doing wrong??

Ok read a post from sil above - need to use http://www.m.tvcatchup.com/ not mobile on the pc.

I can't connect to either over wi-fi in my house - but mobile data works fine. Thought it was my ISP (virgin) but I went to my mates (also virgin) and it works fine?!

Figured it must be something to do with my router configuration but I don't know what! anyone got any ideas or info on ports that should be open?

I'm having exactly the same problem, it's been like this for Tv catchup, yamgo and also the beebplayer. all work fine over 3g, can't get a connection on wifi at home. Like you on Virgin so must be to do with the router but I have no idea what???

I haven't got a virgin router, I have a pluscom one. But if anyone could shed any light on this it would be appreciated!

It wont happen, it would be a breach of their licence by broadcasting outside the uk.

Exactly. The same as the UK not getting content the US does on services such as Xbox Live for example.

I'm on virgin, no problems. My mate has a desire on virgin mobile, tv catchup doesn't work for him?!!

Working fine for me - Virgin Media broadband (50Mb) and HTC Desire on Virgin Mobile (over wifi).

HQ streams seem good, but slightly squashed for some reason, but decent quality! :)

TV Catchup is pants. Couldn't get online on my phone or laptop yesterday pm. Yes it was the England game but come on! A system that doesn't work when it gets busy is just poor and useless tech to me, especially if you rely on it.

Yamgo also didnt allow access.

I don't want to watch cooking programmes at 4am but it seems that any busy times it just struggles.

Is this reflective of the state of our internet infrastructure or the application providers??

MyPlayer works fine on my HTC Desire - quite impressive, actually, but definitely for use through WiFi only (as I was) - but when using TV Catchup and selecting (say) BBC1 I just get the message "The content is not supported" and further dialogs saying that no application can be found for the content, with an offer to download it instead.

Anyone else had the same problem?

I've tried several times and end up with the caution image. Press it and it also says "Shockwave Flash: This type of content is not supported".

Back to Yamgo for me, which works perfectly.
