Root Two questions but both related to each other

1) Is there any way/app to disable IQ Rootkit on my Evo without rooting my phone? This really ticks me off that it is installed in the first place.

2) Is it possible to root my Evo if my main computer is an iMac?

1. unfortunately that will be no. that is a system file and you need root access to delete it. once you are rooted, i would flash a custom rom like mikg that has it removed.

2. and yes you can root with a mac. please read the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html. it has a mac section from earlymon that will guide you through the process. unfortunately i do not know a whole lot about macs.

Every right to be upset about this. More people should be in my opinion. There's a lot of info out there (and some here) on CIQ if you are interested.

When you root your phone, you gain true control (ie root ) of your device. No need to put up with lousy applications (nova game) or malware (Ciq) anymore.
