1.For those like me who consider it a must to have a copy of their "Contacts" from Gmail or
Outlook in their computer:

2. You want to save device camera shot in your computer?
a) Install HTC SYNC
b) Connect your device to the computer
c) Open galerry
d) Check the box " Copy device camera shots"
Files will be saved to Documents/my photos in your computer

Shame HTC don't release a version of HTC Sync for Mac

If I connect my phone as a external hard drive my cannon camera software automatically detects the photos and downloads them.

You don't need HTC sync for mac (I don't want bloatware on my mac anyway)

Just tell address book to sync with googlemail which then syncs to you phone. Ditto with calendar.

iPhoto will import your photos.
