Root TWRP 2.8.5.0 for Realm (LS620) and Exceed 2 (VS450PP)

Well I still thank you, Sir. I hope someone still does have a full stock available sonewhere. I'd have done so and posted myself but there didn't exist a custom recovery at that time to backup & factory reset wiped all apps TB backed up as well. SD capability on this suks, Lol.

Time permitting, I can still pull my /system for you. I'm pretty sure that all I did was make su a system app. Froze many with TiB, but they are still there. If interested, gimme a place to put it.

Thank you Sir! Upload to either or a similar site: Drop box, the Box, ect & post a link (pm me if you don't want a million ppl accessing it). If using drop box, I'll notify you of finished Download so you can disconnect link &/or delete to save space if desired. And Thank you again

You're welcome, but please let me know how you fare. Hopefully you can dd it for "nearly stock' & install the OP's recovery. Works perfectly on the Realm. If I were "the MAN," I'd edit & repack it for the VS450PP. I tried, but failed :(

Kinda wondering if being already 'bumped' and then me bumping it again after editing and repacking has anything to do with it. I'm not very experienced in such things. Will continue my efforts if I can find some time. Hopefully the OP sees the issue and responds (his PM is off). Otherwise I gotz a lot of reading/learning to do...

If anyone lurking/following this has any tips, I'm all ears ;)

I fixed the partition list so it will now work on both devices. I've flashed this on the Realm (LS620) and the Exceed 2 (VS450PP) and it now works correctly. See the OP, as I didn't (know how to) address the screen timeout issue. First thing to do once in TWRP is to go to Settings/Screen/ and uncheck "Enable screen timeout." Hit the "Home" icon and do your nandroid ;)

You need to be rooted, then install Flashify (a copy is in the zip). Just be certain to write it to "Recovery image," not boot. It would be wise to backup both with Flashify beforehand anyway. Saved me from a 3rd full .kdz flash while messing with this. Should you need it, the VS450PP1_04 (full factory image) can be downloaded from this link.

Bumped recovery can be had here. Feedback is most welcome negative or otherwise.

Credits to the OP for initial release, and bcrichster for leading me to the proper tools for editing the image. Thanks guys!

Enjoy!

I successfully flashed your recovery and it worked flawlessly until i hit a stump. I can no longer boot in, just get a secure boot error then a black screen.
Can you please provide me a link to your stock aboot.img

What does "until I hit a stump" mean? The recovery that I edited and linked here doesn't touch your /boot.img at all, let alone /aboot.

I can dd the aboot for you, but I'm seriously strapped for time at the moment.

Sorry, i didnt mean that your recovery did anything :p. I attempted to flash a rom and ended up corrupting aboot. Im in no hurry so whenever u can dd an aboot, i'd greatly appreciate it

OK. I put the stock boot.img along with the aboot.bin you requested here. General directions for flashing/writing via adb or fastboot can be found here. Just BE SURE to dd to the correct partition number(s). Good luck!

EDIT: Just to clarify, this is for the Realm (LGLS620), not the Exceed 2. You didn't really specify which device (or I missed it).

Thanks, the aboot did the trick
Cool. Did you use adb or fastboot to restore it?

BTW, is anyone else having issues with USB debugging on the VS450PP? Every time I plug one of these in, I "have" to go to PC connection/Select USB connection method/ then use "Internet connection" and select ethernet or modem to enable debugging. Even if one is previously selected, (and I reboot or unplug) I have to switch to one or the other before debugging is enabled again. Most other LG devices enable debugging in MTP (or even charge mode), but not these.

I've encountered similar behavior on the LG-G2 (VS980). Beginning to think it's a Verizon specific device issue. I *can* get to debugging, just a PITA is all....
