Got an official request for this thread to be stickied...any dissent?
We could sticky it for a couple of days and maybe include a link to it in this thread:

This sounds a little like the time-without-a-signal "bug" we had on the HTC Droid Eris way back when (I think I've got that right)...

edit: I've updated the above-mentioned sticky thread with the link to the this app mentioned in the OP up-top, so we'll just forgo making this thread a sticky for now (unless Frisco and company believe it has merit, of course)
