Root ugh... how do i put the ROM on my sd card while i'm in clockwork mod recovery?

I feel so dumb asking this question, but I am brand new to this... been spending hours reading....

I am on 2.3.4.... was able to root with unrevoked 3.22... I'm on the clockwork mod recovery screen....

umm... so how do i install my rom? was i supposed to put that on my sd card before i started all of this? :( i haven't read about that anywhere. i feel like it must have been the most obvious thing, and i didn't know it.

sooooo....help!

reboot system now
apply update from sd card
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
install zip from sdcard
backup and restore
mounts and storage
advanced
power off

which one do i choose, when the rom .zip isn't on my sd card yet? :(
 
Yeah, put the rom on the card ahead of time. I download them to my PC due to internet speed, then move to the card via usb cable and disk drive mode.

Choose mounts and storage (press optical joystick) select usb mass storage at the bottom, should now see the sd card on your computer.
 
hmmm.... do i need to mount sd-ext on the phone? i did try, it says error mounting....
but sdcard is already mounted.

still researching too.
is there any point where its ok to reboot the phone, before i get the ROM installed? will that even help?
 
thank you! i have to say.... it went surprisingly well, considering i only decided to do this about 12 hours ago... before that, i didn't know anything about rooting a droid. not that i could necessarily do it again! but i have had a lot of time on my hands lately hahaha.
