I installed voodoo and all went great. I then flashed another kernel, which i thought was for voodoo. DirkLV1200
But when i restarted the phone it just stays on the samsung word. Doesnt move. I see threads how to uninstall and adda text line. But i do not have the program to make the file. I can not get on phone to downlaod from market.

i tried toi just make a folder disable_lagfix. it shows on the red screen but doesnt respond. So how do i get myself out of this mess. I had a quadrant of 1600. But ya know.. Had to push it..

red screen is gone. I am to blue, but with writting in red under it. i can get to green cwr . i can apply anything in zip format but i can not start the phone since i can not disable the voodoo?

Yikes friend you mixed old voodoo with new voodoo. If I wasnt walking right out the door I'd stay and help, your best bet is to search for adrynalyne's All in one odin package or something like that. In the future, just know Dirrks stuff is old and just get your new stuff in the OC Voodoo thread I keep current in the root section here

I was running DJ05 then put on Jts voodoo 12/5 does that sound right? I messed up so fast i am not sure what it was. But then i put Dirks on and thats when it messed up. Thanks for all the links. I have those and i am going through them.

When i start Odin and put the phone in to download mode, it is not recognized by the program so i can not load anything through it.

never mind. Showing up on odin now. That scared me. I will work on the links given for right now. Any other ideas please post.

Trying to get it to stock now. Just a wait process. I see why its called Voodoo! Damn i hope i didnt screw it up beyond repair. I dont mind messing up to learn and know never to do it again. Dont wanna buy a new phone though!

As long as you don't mess with the "phone" section in odin, there really isn't much you can do to actually brick the device.

Okay. Back to stock. I do have the save on card before voodoo. Man is this phone slow compared to what i witnessed a little while ago! Back to the drawing board!

also, i believe that some of the time reflashing a voodoo5 kernel over old voodoo will fix this....seems hit or miss, but going forward something to be aware of :)

Man. That was a mess. But i am back and running. Im non voodoo now. Gotta make a backup. Any Voodoo recommendations?

If i use these links, I will not have to place disablevoodoo files on my sd card?

Or do i need it in case i want to go back to non voodoo?

Alright, lets get this straight.

Please stick the newest editions of voodoo, as they have its way to "disable lagfix" (as made by JT) have their own RED clockwork mod recovery). R CWMR only comes after you flash his kernels.

How do you get into R CWMR?
-Make sure your phone is turned off.
-Hold both the volume UP and volume DOWN button and then press the power on button

Once in R CWMR, there's a voodoo option, which lets you enable/disable lagfix. So rather than the old way of making a file and putting it in voodoo folder, R CWMR does it automatically for you, as long as you tell it to.

So no, these links will not require you to MANUALLY put the file in there, but rather boot into Red CWMR and doing it from there.

Djb, a lot of your questions can be answered by reading the post/thread themselves.
JT:
DO NOT used Rom Manager to reboot into recovery if using these kernels. If you do, you will boot into Koush's version of recovery. Either use the 3 button combo or adb reboot recovery.

To disable Voodoo lagfix, simply boot into recovery, go to the Voodoo menu, and select 'Disable lagfix'. Then reboot your phone, and listen for confirmation that Voodoo lagfix has been deactivated.
[HOWTO] Completely Remove Voodoo Lagfix - xda-developers
Adry:
DJ05/Voodoo5 Instructions

1. Disable voodoo either by adding a disable_lagfix text file or folder to /sdcard/voodoo directory, or by using the RED clockwork recovery for voodoo and going to the voodoo menu. Remember , you can only boot to it via:

adb reboot recovery
quickboot
manually (hold volume+/- and power)
framework modification.

Rom Manager cannot boot it.

2. Once disabled, flash a nonvoodoo kernel.

As you can see, removing NEW voodoo is just two easy steps.

I know and do realize most questions are answered. But at the same time, I thought i was reading and getting updated stuff before i messed it all up. So i am just asking to be sure i guess. I hate to make you guys repeat what you have said probably 100 xs over. But i will always have my own threads to keep up on it all. And believe me. I have been coming back to all f them and reading everything.

So i really do appreciate all that you guys have done for me. I promise not be a pain. I understand more and more and feel like i am caught up. From knowing nothing a week ago to where i am at now, I think i have a grasp and can follow the updated topics and not have to read links that are so old i dont realize it.

I was just over my head for a bit.

Alright good I'm glad. I don't mind helping a fellow SFer out, as long as it prevents someone from bricking their phones. Keep those questions coming, but keep reading carefully at the same time.

Thanks. I have it and i understand it. Even though i have fixed the problems with the help here. This morning i stripped the phone to stock and i went through each step one by one from Dh12. To DJ05 and Voodoo. My Quadrant score is 1782! and i am good with that.

I wrote out everything with each step, just so i understand it better! All went off without a hitch, to the voodoo install.

If anyone needs help i will gladly share my notes too!

Hey guys, are there any instructions on how to remove voodoo with a Mac? I can't get the SDK to work on my windows machine anymore :(
