Root Ultimate 3.1 ROM is available

It's entirely possible - but, Launcher2 was never this stable on Pete's builds, so bd is doing *something* right.
I don't know, once I followed the advice to remove widgets from screens 1 and 7, I haven't had a single FC on Pete's .5. I haven't used any of the Ultimate ROMs so I can't say anything accurate about them, but of the ROMs that I have used, Pete's have definitely been the most stable for me. I have been pretty lucky though, and haven't had any boot loops or any like problems with any of the ROMs I've tried.

In general I would agree with that. I put Pete's 2.1 v0.5 on my phone and after all day of using Ultimate I switched over...just so much smoother in general. I'm not up on all the "who took what from who's rom" talk but Ultimate is heading in a good direction with version 3.7. Pete's roms are just more refined...but I love trying the new roms to see what others are adding. Bugless Beast is not much different with the versions today vs. 1 month ago. Other roms are going from unstable to pretty damn nice. I think I'm attracted to the "progress" of these roms as much as anything :D

I like trying new things and picking the one I like the best of a variety of reasons.

Brett Lewis should be here, I am about to affirm his statement about things looking pretty - I found a ROM that has it all, stability, speed, *and* aesthetics - the glass on this ROM is *only* outdone (thus far) by the Blue Smoked Glass theme that Pete used for a bit, before I switched over to SG4.5

In the end, though, it's personal choice - that is why there are 152,567 different 'versions' of *ix out there, with another one being released every 19.63 minutes....

I now have 3 roms that I actually use and switch between (Ultimate 3.7, ADC 0.3, and BB 2.1 v0.5). I use MyBackup Pro to manage things like keeping my apps, txt's, and call logs up to date when I switch roms. On top of that, I'm game to try whatever else anyone puts out there because this is what the "open source" of android is all about for me...this is why I don't have an iPhone.

This is why I bought this phone - because VZW didn't touch the OS.

I feel ya, UBR. I'll have to look into MBu Pro - but it is so much more fun reinstalling all my apps by hand! (not.)

It doesn't do "batch installing" so you have to walk through one app at a time. The way it works though, you can do that in a very short amount of time. I could set up a brand new rom just the way I like it (apps, layout, etc.) in a matter of probably 15-20 minutes and that makes trying new roms all the time tolerable. I have heard about other apps like Titanium Backup that would make that even easier but I'm a creature of habit...and I'm cheap :D

I' a college student - cheap is my middle name...lol

I'll read up on it during spring break and see i I can make it work - I may just use Fab's method instead - did I mention I like the commandline?

Don't cry to me my friend...1 wife...2 kids...you are probably rich compare to me! :)

Fab's method? What is that??? This tread has officially been hijacked! lol I like how it is staying at the tops of the forums and the link represents a ROM that has had multiple releases after the 3.1 listed :D

Can't find it now so I'll do it from memory:

From your current ROM:

Code:
cp /system/data/* /sdcard/data (or apps, or whatever)

After installing your new ROM:

Code:
cp /sdcard/data (or apps, or whatever)/* /system/data
