See how complicated this all gets with all the misinformation? It's not to say that none of it's true. But just because someone states matter-of-factly that someone did something doesn't make it fact to me, and frankly I don't care enough to dig and wade through the swamp of shit to find out what's real and what's not. I don't see anyone else who does care doing that, either.
So BlackDroid worked hard to compile everyone elses' work into a useable ROM with lots of things people want, called it his own and said "Donations appreciated".
I work with at least 3 people who have egos so huge that they simply lack concideration for those around them. They don't know they're inconciderate assholes, they just are. Inconcideration is one of those things that is cumulativly frustrating to most people. In other words, they have to see it over and over until they reach a point of infuriation. Then everything explodes.
As far as asking for donations, well all I can say is thank God Jesus Christ isn't here on Earth building ROMs and lowering the bar of selfless generosity to a point where it's just not worth it for 75% of anyone who would concider going past the first 100 hours! I mean, how much can anyone expect someone to work for free, even if he is copying other code?
And so it does all die down, like anyone with a brain knew it would, with the end result being that BlackDroid says he's leaving ROM building indefinitely.
Great. Now WTF's gonna motivate anyone to build something better than the other choices?
Nothing.
All you people bitching here had a fantastic opportunity to use BlackDroid's assholism to inspire other artists to out-do him and get even better ROMs made available to us. But instead, everyone gets all pompous & self-righteous and start galloping around on the moral high grounds on their high horses.

At least BlackDroid was giving us all something. Maybe he was a self serving thieving scumbag. But he forced collaboration that wasn't happening by stealing builders' work, and his ROMs rocked. There's no denying it, folks.
