... and probably a few other bits and pieces..

I have been running 5.0.6 test 4 since yesterday morning. I think its whats going to be the actual release of 5.0.6 So far I havent noticed any changes beyond what is listed there.

Have to admit that after trying MANY different ROMS I like this one the best. It has been very stable for me and I love the way it looks. I'm not familiar with all of the politics behind it all, just saying purely from a ROM quality standpoint \m/

Wwwooowww!!!!!!!!! Talk about amazing garbage. Well, now that I'm up to speed, here's my two pennies.

I, like many of you, just want what's best for my Droid. Up till now, that has been the Ultimate Droid ROMs. I've used the other ROMs and none have optimized my Droid the way UD, in addition w/ AdamZ's LV 1.2GHz kernel. UD9.8 was by far the best at doing so, and it was a thing of beauty.

The one ROM I haven't used yet is cyanogen's. Basically, I was showing man-love to Blackdroid and didn't feel a need to go anywhere else while I was getting what I wanted. But if it's true that UD10 is basically just cyan's mod just chopped and screwed, then I'm not completely encouraged to go that route. UD10 has been a lil funky on my Droid, and not being able to talk at all in the Blackdroid subforums on DF has not helped any. And when you combine what has been uncovered about both BD and DF, I'm rather inclined to be looking elsewhere.

As for the drama, there's absolutely no place for it here. I'm still relatively new to this world and the gaming world, but they seem to have striking resemblances. I realize that the intelligence it takes to be in these fields bears certain stigmas such as a tendency toward social awkwardness, but there's a point when everyone needs to grow up and realize that the world has enough issues; childish name-calling and finger-pointing isn't helping anyone out. I don't agree w/ what's transpired but NOBODY looks any better after this outcome.

Now that we have that out of the way, what cool ROMs is everyone else using? I've got an itchy flashing finger. And being from Jersey, that's more than appropriate. lol

I've also been checking out UD10. Performance is on-par with CM, maybe a little faster. There are minor differences in the two, and not to diss CM or brag up BD, but UD10 did not give me any troubles. I did however have a few problems with CM. Only thing I can think of is that since BD didn't use ALL of the CM files, something must work better. That's an educated guess from my BB Storm days, where I actually used to mix and match my own hybrids.

I understand both sides of the argument..although the flamewar really got out of hand. But in the end I will run whatever ROM runs best, and I really want/need apps2sd(200+ apps on my Droid).

Yankee, if you'd like to read up on UD10, and get support for it, UD has it's own site now, ultimatedroid.com. So far they are very active in answering questions and posting solutions. There is also no bad talk of CM in there. They seem to acknowledge, though not directly, that UD10 is based on CM.

I'm not a BD fanboy..just putting out info. I'm actually waiting for a 100% Droid version of CM, or any other ROM with working apps2sd. I'm hoping some of the other devs explore the apps2sd option..

You guys keep saying you want what's best for your phone, but in my opinion, an honest ROM developer is what's best. I want a developer who has not lied about "borrowing" code from another ROM. We are giving these developers access to the core functioning of our phones. Theoretically, a ROM developer with bad intent could make a ROM that will steal my personal information. I'm not saying BD would do something like this. I'm saying that honesty in the developers is legitimate criteria for a ROM.

CM has apps2sd... and it works great. There are people running it on the stock SD Card... although it's recommended to pick up a class 6. Partition tools in RM and everything....

Head over to CyanogenMod.com to find instructions on how to set it up if your not sure..

CM's internal ROM footprint is much smaller than the standard ESE81 cut and past.... so technically for those only running 30 to 50 apps there's more than enough space to go around..... not sure what 200 looks like.
