Root Unable to boot.

Which sd card do you have? Is it a 2 gig one, by any chance?

i have heard that evos have problem in the rooting world using that size card.

Grabbed the all in one yes. Now im past the splash screen and on the HTC quietly brilliant boot screen. Waiting to see if it will boot up.

Howdy folks!! :D

@OP, how long did you wait before you pulled the battery while waiting for it to boot?

Some roms take quite a while, upwards of 30 mins.

I would try this and see where we end up.

I'm going to link you the stock rom for the latest ota. Flash this from recovery like any other rom. Use the superwipe file Dust linked earlier and make sure you wipe at least twice. Cache partition, dalvik cache and data / factory reset.

[ROM][STOCK][12/24/11] 4.54.651.1 (updated) - xda-developers

Download the odexed version.

Flash that and make sure you give it a few minutes, the first boot after a flash is always longer. ;)

Let us know if this works, then we can troubleshoot from there. :)

Edit: OK, nevermind!!! :D Thats awesome!!

good god, i finally got it. You're the man dude. Thanks so much for all the help.

Awesomeness!!

You've had your first brush with bootlooping, palms sweaty? Slightly elevated heartbeat? Nervous? :D:)

It's all good, now you know you can fix it, if it boots to recovery it can be fixed...99% of the time! ;)

Did you flash the new Amon-ra recovery? What recovery are you on?

Oh yes, sweaty palms are no good.

I did flash to the new recovery. Loving it much better. Question for you now is, do i download an app to support it on the phone? Or can i use the clockwork mod app to flash roms if needed? Or should i just flash roms using the update on fastboot?

I am really glad that worked out for you!

The first thing i would do if I was you would be to make a backup, checking off the first 3 and wimax as well, and keep that safe, like on your pc. Has the wimax keys, for your 4g, I think, lose them and they are gone forever.

after that nand is made and safe, I would prob go through that whole wiping progress again and dl and install the mik3.0 rom .

I think you can prob find it in our rom and kernel sticky. It is a great rom!

i would also suggest getting the quick boot app from the market. You probably already know about titanium backup pro and setcpu, right?

Again, sure glad you have your phone working again, and also again, welcome to the forums, don't be a stranger! :p

Ok, just saw this. You are done with clockwork now and don't need any app to support this recovery. Learn to do it manually yourself with the recovery. Let us know if you have any questions how, I will put a link in here with directions that tell you how to, as well. :p

The apps i usually use are Superuser, Set CPU, Root Explorer, Clockwork Mod, and Open garden wifi tether. No i noticed that open garden doesnt exist anymore, and clockwork mod is useless now that i have amon. In order to install a new rom i will have to flash it through bootloader right? Or can i download an app to one click flash roms?

Haha, nevermind that last post then. (About the clockwork mod) I was being lazy before, but now i know that i will need to be much more thorough while dealing with roots.

+1

You can go ahead and delete rom manager, you won't need it anymore. ;)
Do everything manually with your recovery and all will be right as rain! :D
