anyone having problems calling *228? i have been traveling and want to make sure my phone is searching for the closest cell towers by updating the roaming capabilities, but, everytime i try to dial *228, it just ends the call before anything happens... anyone have any idea why?

They blocked your number because they don't like getting calls from people that don't use the search function.... :p

I think you should call up and complain bitterly that it doesn't work! :D

I heard that before they figured out they should turn *228 off for the TB sim, it fried a bunch of them...and of course required handling a bunch of angry customers...

If customers and associates followed instructions in the folder that came with the phone, they would have known not to *228. So, the process was solid, people not so much.

Read the directions...are you kidding me!! No one reads directions. except me...

Most people open up and hit go. my buddies anthem is "when all else fails, read the directions!" How do you think that works for him? :p

Heck the corporate store reps didn't know that you couldn't dial *228. I was concerned about poor reception at home and was told to update my roaming options. I did however read the instructions and promptly told him that you didn't need to dial *228 because the TB was supposed to auto update. He didn't believe me and found a manager who told him the same thing.
