Help Unable to factory reset after 2.2

Hey guys. I really appreciate everyone's help on these forums! You have all made my experience with the LG Ally much better.

The question I have right now though; is it normal to NOT be able to factory reset after upgrading to Froyo 2.2.1? I recently did the upgrade through OTA updates and I read that if your phone acts weird to do a factory reset. Every time I try to do it the phone shuts down, then hangs on the LG screen until I pull the battery. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue and what they did to remedy it. Thanks in advance!

Are you trying a factory reset by turning power off then pressing the home key + power key + volume up or down key? Thats what I had to use, settings>Privacy>Factory data reset wouldn't work for me for some reason.

No I haven't tried that method yet but I will thanks!

EDIT: Ok it does the same thing. It just freezes on the LG screen and I have to pull the battery to restart the phone.

Those are the only ways to do a factory reset that I'm aware of, the easiest thing would be take it into a Verizon store, explain the situation, and ask them to fix it.
