Root Unable to get into Hboot

I am trying to get into hboot and I hold the power button and volume down button and it doesn't get into hboot. Am I missing something here isn't that all is required. I turn my phone off and hold power and volume down. Please help

Go to settings / Power / and make sure fastboot is un checked. It might be in a different location for u im on mikG

I am running 2.3.3 will I be able to root this?

Depends on your Hboot.

Pull the battery, then hold down volume and power button.

Post the information that comes up on the HBOOT screen

What is your h boot ver.

You should be able to just follow the instructions
It supports 2.16 and 2.15

Just courious whats with the battery pull Ive never had to do that?

By pulling the battery and then inserting it back in it just ensures it won't fastboot.

If people are having trouble figuring out how to undo fast boot its just a work around for that.

Thanks for all your help I did get access to HBoot but I still get the firmware is to new when trying to root it. Here is what I see on the hboot menu. Thanks alot guys.

you can't use unrevoked with your hboot. you need to follow this guide:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html
