Root Unable to manually boot to recovery...

Looking for a bit of advice, I tried to get my Desire to boot into recovery mode the other day via the usual protocol (hold volume down + power button) but all that is happening is the boot sequence pauses at the HTC screen then once I let go of the volume it starts loading MIUI instead of going to hboot

I can still access clockwork by using the 'reboot in recovery option' in the MIUI update tool but I reckon I need to get to the bottom of this in case I ever need access without having to go via the ROM

Any suggestions where to start looking are welcome (as google aint turning up much)

your volume rocker might be damaged
see if you can boot to fastboot by holding down back and pressing power
if you get to fastboot, select bootloader with the rocker (if you can) and then once its loaded click recovery

Worked a treat cheers dude, however the volume buttons seem to be working ok for moving up and down between options and are working fine within MIUI, figure that one out :P
