Download the programs to convert and flash firmware: KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.zip

How to get into emergency mode (Download Mode):
1. Phone must be off and unplugged
2. Hold Volume Up+Down and plug in USB cable.

To get out of e-mode, pull battery and unplug USB cable (do not do this while flashing firmware!)


Before you start flashing firmware, please make sure you charge your battery for at least 30 minutes/over 50%

These are the instructions to convert the cab to a KDZ and flashing it:
  1. Install phone drivers
  2. Install msxml.msi
  3. Disable antivirus software
  4. Open UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe
  5. Wait for the program to open
  6. Look for "Encrypt cab file to kdz file"
  7. Click the folder icon
  8. Choose the location of the cab you downloaded for the firmware
  9. Encrypt cab -> kdz Program will freeze up. DO NOT EXIT until program says Done!!! Otherwise it won't finish converting.
  10. Close program
  11. Open KDZ_FW_UPD.exe
  12. "Type" choose CDMA
  13. Choose in "Phonemode": Emergency
  14. Click the folder icon and choose the kdz file that UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe just made.
  15. Click Launch software update and enjoy!
 
My phone doesn't want to connect to my computer!!! I installed the drivers and everything and nothing worked. I've even uninstalled the drivers then installed a newer version driver and still nothing.
 
So I just went from LDrifta's Number 2 (ZVA) to VV4, but didn't wipe data/cache first so all my apps and stuff are still there. Is this bad? Do you think it'll be gummed up without a wipe?

By the way, the process worked great. You may want to add a note that the phone may reboot during the process of installing the KDZ (I freaked out for a second thinking I ran out of battery or something), but other than that, flawless instructions/zips. Thanks all.
 
Here's what happens.
I choose the VV5 zip that I download and press encrypt, it just opens another folder. Is that supposed to happen?
Then when I select the KDZ file and click start upgrade, I get an error. What am I doing wrong?

It opens the file location to show you its done. What does the error say???
 
is the conversion supposed to only take seconds? lol because it finished super fast... hope it was complete :/ lol

If the downloaded cab isn't the full size, then yea. You'll find out when you try flashing it whether it was a good or bad download. It will keep failing if it's a bad download.
 
when i try to open uptestEX_mod2_... it gives me the error "it cant open "because LGMobileDL.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." which program am i supposed to reinstall???

Edit: it was my dumb mistake...never mind thanks for this guys.
