Root Underclockers

Any other heavy users in here who have underclocked? How low do you go? Even with all the crap I've installed I've noticed virtually ZERO lag at 768MHz. I was at 806 and dropped down to 768 with almost no noticable difference. Just wondering what everyone else is getting. I'm running #2 2.4.

y u underclock the (soon to be old) BEAST.
The beast spits at you. no good! :D

Seriously though. remember that quite a few phones don't have a 1Ghz or higher CPU, and run fine. It all depends on how HEAVY your usage is. I mean, simple things should work fine if you have an optimized/smooth and stable ROM, but when you start doing CPU intensive tasks, such as high-end graphics gameplay, you WILL notice the difference. ;)

I usually stay UC'd to around 700-800ish. Runs fine and saves hella battery.

Thanks for telling me that y i know what to set at since my battery doesnt last to long. but want to run smooth and no lags. what about the tweeks? what is that? my cpu i put it at 806 max and 348 min. is that good? aldo its ondemand. I'm new at this and i just like messing withe phone and i use it for social and internet browsing more than anything and just want a few tips on how i can have good performance but not to juice up the battery fast you know what i mean. im on number #2 v2.5

Well I was running the OC speed kernel so I could get the extra values, that way I could keep the lowest setting at around 500ish. The reason for this was mainly for when ending a call the "end" button wouldn't lag forever after clicking it. So somewhere around 800/500 is where i would keep it at and that worked good for me.

This is on 2.5, stock batt, speed kernel! Normal browsing FB, and other forums...even used the navigation! No need to underclock, and if you do batt life should be considerably BETTER!

BTW, I also utilize the 2x battery app

well im still new at this so i really dont mess with the cpu or anything..but
as far as the end call button yes it waits a bit to close im on the number #2 2.5 version with a spb 3d theme. Now about the battery apps ive downloaded some and they just juice up my battery more so i just uninstall..

It's nice to see what everyone is getting to compare notes. I have frozen all apps I dont use all the time, and put all other non essential apps on my sd card. Just by doing that I freed up a bunch of speed. I have an animated pulldown menu that hogs ram lol.

I do the same thing. No sense in having an app running that you only use once a week or once a month.

Yeah you have to have the paid version. It's well worth the money because you can also batch install and uninstall. Meaning you can click all the apps you would want to install and do it all in one shot where as on the free version you have to click one by one and install them manually and if you've ever done that you know that it can take up to and over an hour depending on the amount of apps you have.

My advice? Buy the app. Well worth it ;)
