Root undervolting?

I am curious if it would be possible to get voltage control in a kernal for our device. My samsung galaxy player has voltage control and i got a huge gain in battery life.

So far there's 2. TrenchKato 0.3 Overclock kernel and Koumakernel 2.3 which integrates the OC kernel with A2SD

Don't know about undervolting though

Well I know about the overclocking thing. I was just curious if we could drop the actual voltage. I am pretty ignorant of how our armv6 chips work with the kernals out at the moment. It is not a huge deal, but I figure it would at least be worth asking even if I sound stupid.

The latest versions of the kernels utilize AVS, or Adaptive Voltage Scaling.

This lets the kernel communicate in a closed loop to micro-manage processor voltage to use the lowest possible power supply voltage to achieve the desired clock frequency.

Reading: Low-Power Design

This does not give the user any visibility into, nor any control over the process of voltage scaling.

so the answer is a mixed yes.
The kernel is doing some regulating of the voltage, but no, you can't see it or play with it. Hopefully, it's already optimized so we wouldn't want to change anything if we could

Wow, thanks for the information! That definitely answered my question and much more.
