Uneven lighting horizontally across AMOLED screen

Greetings,

I'm not sure if this is a general drawback with the AMOLED technology or if my screen has a defect, but the display seems unevenly illuminated horizontally across the surface, showing vertical whitish bars.
Here's a crude photograph:

The picture somewhat illustrates the phenomenon although the low quality of the camera (common webcam) does make it hard to distinguish from the noise.
Is it a general issue or a problem with my specific device?

Thanks. How is the procedure for returning it for repairs?
It was bought from INTLO.com (in the USA) and shipped to my address in Denmark (Europe/Scandinavia). Will I likely have to pay for the shipment myself?

If you're still within your exchange period with Intlo, I'd definitely do it that way. Odds are you'll have to pay return shipping (which will probably cost you about $30).

If you want to take your chances with Samsung's warranty service, they likely have a repair center relatively near you, and will cover the shipping costs both ways. The downside is that they take forever to get your phone back to you, and sometimes don't even fix it, claiming they couldn't find anything wrong with it.
