Help Unified Inbox?

On my BB, I have a single inbox that combines work email (MS Exchange via BES), personal email (Gmail and POP accounts) and text messages. On the home screen of my new Evo 4G, there are currently 3 icons - Gmail, Mail and Messages. Is there any way to combine all these "inboxes" into one as I can on my BB?

theoretically it can be done, all through gmail but you would have to convince all of your friends to send all text messages to yourphonenumber@sprintpcs.com ( I have no idea what the actual format is but there is one)

then turn off notifications for messages, email and then go to gmail on a desktop and configure it to fetch the blahblahblah@spintpcs.com

you can have gmail grab just about any email accounts you have and then send to the gmail app.

then delete the mail and messages shortcuts on your home screen and simply use the gmail one.

sorry I don't have specific instructions for you...but I am 90% positive you can do it that way. It just isn't as easy to set it up as it was on the blackberry

and remember...lots of good info in there

I dont know about the text messages but all the email accounts can be simply added into one main MAIL icon. Just add them as directed when you click the main MAIL icon. I have my Gmail, Yahoo and POP3 accounts in that one icon. I dont know about MS Exchange).

true true

I am not sure about the text but I have this one older friend in his 50's that for whatever reason always sends me text as emails somehow

I may have it backwards...he may be sending them from his phone to my email address

I wish there was an email app I can download to manage the emails similar to the way iPhone manages emails. For ex, the SWIPE to delete email functionality is so much eaiser and quicker than the stock EVO mail manager. You have to clcik through at least 3 or 4 more clicks to do the same thing on EVO.

there are several email apps out there...try them out until you find one that you like
