Help Uninstall Android 2.2 and reinstall Windows Mobile 6.5.3

I bought an HTC HD2 in an eBay auction and the Android 2.2 OS was installed when I received it. I don't use apps and I don't use the social networking functionality of Android.

I am a heavy user of Outlook, it's contacts, calendar and tasks. I also use Windows media player to create playlists for over 16 GB of music. I have found that android 2.2 doesn't easily import those playlists in the manner I am used to on an older phone that had Windows Mobile 6.5 installed.

Please tell me what I can do to uninstall Android 2.2 from my HTC HD2 and then install Windows Mobile 6.5.3. Thanks very much for any help!

Hey, not hard at all:

a) plug in usb
b) boot into bootloader (volume down on power on)
c) flash your windows mobile rom.

or

a) rename the rom to leoimg.nbh and stick on memory card.
b) boot into bootloader.

As for which ROM to put on, you need to know if it is a US or EUR phone. Reason is, the US (T-Mobile) version has 1024MB ROM space and ther EUR only has 512MB ROM space.

For TMOUS, I would HIGHLY suggest: [TMOUS] |WWE|

Hi Talderon,

Thanks for your help. However I am but a mere mortal (non-techie).

Please tell me what you mean by "boot into bootloader (volume down on power on)". Also, please tell me how to tell if I even have a Windows mobile ROM. As far as I know Windows mobile ROM was removed by the previous owner and then replaced by Android 2.2.

As for the ROM that I have it must be the US version because the phone is running just fine on T-Mobile.

If they installed Android to NAND, then no, you do not have Windows Mobile installed (which is the most likely case).

A. Download the ROM in the first link I posted and follow the following instructions.

B. Backup ALL Data on the SD Card

C. Format the SD Card (this is to ensure nothing is left from the Android ROM that will not be used and also give you the best chances to get a fresh start without inherent issues)

1. Download and install the latest version of 7zip (free)

2. Extract the downloaded ROM to a folder on your computer

3. Once extracted, locate a file named: {anything}.nbh (if it is already leoimg.nbh, then you can skip step 4 below)

4. Rename the above file to leoimg.nbh and copy it to the memory card. Do NOT put it inside a folder, just in the root of the card

5. Boot loader - Turn the phone OFF - Hold the Volume Down Button on the site, press the Power button to power up the phone and KEEP HOLDING the Volume Down until you get to the boot loader screen. It will look similar to this:

It should detect the ROM file on the SD Card and flash. Please note that this WILL wipe ALL data off your device and revert it back to Windows Mobile.

Once done, let it boot up normally and you should be all set now.
