I need to remove Clockwork Mod from my old Droid X. I have an issue with the screen and have a replacement Droid x.

I Unrooted and did a factory reset on the old X and activated my new X, I reinstalled my old battery in my old X and booted it up( To see if all was good) and...Clockwork Mod was what booted up. If I click on reboot system now and and it reboots to the acvtivation screen.

I need to remove it so when I return the old X I dont have any problems...Like I said the problem was with the screen, everything else was running smoothly.

Please help...

Damn...does that mean I have to re-activate my old X?..because I cant get to any functions other than the activation "welcome to the Droid X" screen

You use SBF or Maderstock, they do the same thing. With Maderstock you won't need to deal with RSD Lite and the Moto Drivers but if your familiar with it already than you'll find both solutions rather simple.

Afterwards, you can sign in to your google account and activate your phone w/ *228. You'll be full functional for the most part.

You may like turning in a completely blank phone simply to take an extra step in keeping your personal information private. However you can reformat the SD card and do a Factory Data Reset in the privacy menu and you should be good to go anyhow.

No. If your phone boots into Clockwork Recovery mode, choose install from sdcard and use the vol up/down button to find the maderstock.zip file and install it. No need to re-activate your old X. After the install, your phone will reboot and will stop at the activate screen. At that point, just turn it off and remove the battery. When it is powered up again, then it will come to the activation screen again.

Thanks, I tried that ...I saved the Zip to sd. rebooted in recovery, clicked on install zip from sdcard, scrolled down to maderstcok340.zip. and, E: Cant open / sdcard /maderstcok340.zip (bad), installation aborted.

Check to see if you downloaded the full maderstock340.zip file. Sometimes the downloads might not be complete.

+1 diskovilante,

Check the file's size Size: 284.7 MB (298481300 bytes) and MD5 checksum MD5: ce7122280eafad4a39ba7fefeb764bf5 (taken from bouchigo's linked thread above).

You can do this with my (free) app, AFV or even Astro File Manager.

I don't know if this is a signed .zip file or not, but if it is, you can also do a jarsigner -verify type check via my app too. I've read that (unfortunately) ClockworkMod does not check the signature of files before allowing them to be flashed (not a good thing).

Good luck!

You guys Rock....
I re rooted and tried, nothing. So I redownloaded maderstock from android.net (not the mirror sites, those didnt seem to work), and bam. It worked.

Many Thanks..
