Unknown tablet with Chinese system menu

Hi. I've a friend's tablet here, a cheap and not so cheerful one bought for the children. I have no idea about the manufacturer or model number. No markings. The rom is crane_a710-eng.

It won't boot so I'd like to factory reset.

Vol+ and power get the usual opened up Android screen but there are no menu options available - I've tried all keypress combinations but no menu appears.

Vol- and power sometimes brings up a diagnostics / system menu but it is in Chinese.

Please can anyone help translate the menus or work out the menu option to change to English if there is one.

I've attached 1.jpg and 2.jpg showing the tablet if it helps id it (but I doubt it as it's so generic looking).

I've also attached menu1.jpg menu2.jpg and menu3.jpg. Menu1 is the main menu, the other two are sub-menus. Apologies for the poor quality of the menu pictures. I would try to take better ones but getting into the menu is very hit and miss and when I do get into the menu most of the time I can't select anything.

Many thanks if anyone can help.

Update (from identical model, 2 were bought at the same time):
Model number: MID
Android version: 4.0.3
Kernel version: 3.0.8 zgm@soft #2
Build number: 20120731-LY-F2S.0.7.1

Can anyone help me ID this tablet please? Thanks.

So often it's not possible to identify exactly what you've got with these no-name devices. Usually the logic board will have come from some anonymous tech firm, it will have been assembled as a complete tablet by another anonymous firm, and then they're distributed by trading companies. All of whom are mainly in Shenzhen. The companies that do the actual manufacturing are often only contactable by a mobile phone or QQ IM number or email, and are only listed in the Shenzhen tech trade newspapers, no internet presence.

Thank you mikedt.

I have another question then please. Is it possible to clone the working tablet (absolutely identical) to a file that I can then flash onto the non-working tablet with LiveSuite?

Thank you.

Okay, so I've used the Allwinner Dump tool to dump the working tablet. I've got 5 files - boot.img, bootloader.img, data.tgz, recovery.img, system.tgz
How could I create an image to flash using LiveSuite?
I can't use Uberizer as it requires the target tablet to be booted...

I was reading over at xda that you have to unzip or extract the system images from the .tgz image. Its a tarball Linux file. It may be possible in Windows but not sure how. Hope I could help out. I'm attempting to do the same exact thing right now.
