Not with Sprint charging $10. The mass exodus would be of epic proportions. They're all greed mongers, but that's a stretch, even for them.

If I got truly unlimited LTE data from Verizon with the Bionic.... I'd pay $100/mo for that. I could eat a LOT of data via LTE wirelessly. Pandora, Netflix, email, web browsing, voip calls for international, video chats, uploading pics, uploading HD video to the cloud.... Do I need to go on and on?

most of us can't afford $100+ a month for a single phone, especially when we have a FAMILY of phones to pay for. Congratulations on all your success and riches to blow on a cell phone, a lot of us dont have that luxury.

I'm with ya, I've got 5 lines to pay for, 3 of which are smartphones, and two of which are likely to wind up with 4G phones this year (despite my doubts that I'll have access to 4G so soon). It's damn hard to imagine paying $20 extra when another network $10 a month.

Ill stick with my unlimited 3g if they want to charge $50 a month that is ridiculous. I mean Verizon already makes enough money and im sure if they change it in a few years there will be an unlimited plan for around $30ish a month I mean look a few years back unlimited data and texting was unheard of when 3g was first out. Im sure it will be the same with 4g once it is more readily available

This is exactly why I am considering paying the ridiculous full retail cost of the Thunderbolt. From what we have heard Verizon will be keeping the 4g pricing for the thunderbolt at $30. However by the time the other 4g devices come out like the Droid Bionic, they will change over to some other tiered more expensive plan.

If they increase the 4g plan reasonably to $40/mo then over 1 year I would be.paying $120 additional dollars to Verizon. If they go.crazy and charge $50 /mo then I will be paying Verizon $240 extra in data costs. So as I contemplate what the cost would be to buy the thunderbolt at full price it pales in comparison to how much I would save by getting grandfathered into $30/mo 4g plan.

I sure hope they don't get rid of the unlimited date packages. My Droid has become my primary source for the internet, so I'm using at least 1gb a month, often more.

It's not even close to my primary source of internet, and I still easily break 3 gig D:

Just wanted to toss this out, I did call Verizon and ask them if I upgraded to a Bionic if I would have to pay for a 4G plan since 4G wasn't expected to be in my area until late 2012 and they said the Bionic has dual radios in it and I can keep my existing 3G unlimited data plan. I stopped into my local Verizon store and they confirmed that also.

I also asked them about what would happen to my unlimited data plan if the rumor of Verizon going to tiered data plans becomes true. They told me I would be grandfathered in until I changed my contract (i.e. new phone w/discount) but if I bought it outright it wouldn't be affected since there was no discounted pricing. Hope that makes sense.
