Unlocked bootload and CM10

yeah LG has this strange fetish of not letting anything compile properly lol, have you tried building the actual rom source?? LOL wont happen :D, but good luck man glad someone is over here trying, at the moment im trying to get my hands on a cheap lucid so i can dedicate it to testing!! untill then.. goodluck my friend :D lol
I'm hoping to avoid that if at all possible. We did so many changes to get the spec working, that I don't really want a repeat on the lucid. Especially with hardware being so similar. I've added in the video drivers and board configs, but after running all night, it error'd out again. I'm resyncing my spectrum files and going to try building with linaro gcc instead of the cm prebuilts.

you couldn't check where it error'd out on you? sometimes it's something minor that you just forget lol

so basically your only swapping the video drivers and some config info or is it way more complex than that? lol im still trying to learn/understand all this kernel stuff :D so far the only 2 devices i built for are connect(ms840) and esteem(ms910) lol

The actual error went off screen some where before the build error'd out. If there is a build error log, I have not been able to find it yet. And yes, I'm trying to just add the needed driver files and modding the spec build config. I'm taking a different approach today and seeing if the official source will build. Surprisingly, I've been building for about 30min now with no errors. It would probably help if I wasn't on a 4 year old PC trying to do this.

The stock source actually built... who knew. I've got it packed into a boot.img and am uploading a new rom right now. I'll be honest, I don't expect this to fully boot into the OS, but right now, I'm looking for screen to turn on. If it gets farther, this will be a big plus. 1hr upload left.

Step in the right direction, but not the one I wanted. That's a build or init error I need to fix. This is the first time the LG logo has appeared for you, correct?

so i really wanna test this, but for some reason when i try to revert to gb, it just bricks me. i just spent four hours unbricking.

Crap :( , Same issue we had on the spec then. Their stock config isn't building correctly. Back to the drawing board.
yeah when i compiled the GB kernel i remember an issue with defconfig (for connect) but luckily i had a source to check with because someone had already compiled the kernel, i believe it was just a line or two used from another similar device.. so was an easy fix for me.. forget what the hell it was :/ sorry man lol

When you guys do get the unlocked bootloader, please make a new thread that lets users know how to flash it for me to link in the ATR guide and PM me so I know, thanks :)
Happy New Year everyone!

Ok, this is the spec kernel, built from source, with the lucid video drivers and rear camera driver added in. I finally have it to the point that it doesn't critically error out on compile. I also added back in the start up sound and added in the correct sized start up images. Let me know if this one is any better then the previous attempts.

Froze at LG logo again. Am trying without wiping data just for good measure now.

edit-
Still frozen at logo with and without data wiping. I don't suppose "frozen" is the right word since i can still get into recovery, but you know what I mean.

Gonna give it a try on mine in a bit. Will let you know how it goes.

Update: Yep. Definition of insanity. :D Same result. Sticks at initial LG screen. Can't get a log off of it. Device not found.

I'm going to post some stand alone kernels later tonight and see where we get. I'm really pissed at LG for not making sure their source code actually works on their phones.

Ok, if these don't work, I'm going to start pulling my hair out. I fully expect 4a to get past the LG logo. If it doesn't, then I messed up the ramdisk and that is part of my issue. If 4a gets past the logo(even to a black screen), then 4b should as well. If 4b doesn't do anything, then I need to find a different source code to work with as that will me the LG supplied one is crap.

Flash these over the beta4 full rom one at a time to test them.

Got to black screen with 4a, but at work so not able to pull a log. will try 4b next anyway.

-edit-
4b errors out with failed symlinks

Any luck with the log on 4a? Also, I've uploaded a corrected 4b. Sorry about that. I'm going to try and find some new kernel sources tonight for the video drivers as well. I'm convinced that the pure source is crap.

Fixed b is sticking at LG screen, will reset and apply a to try to pull log

-edit-
On a, i am unable to pull a log at the moment (is fighting me again) but i do have key sounds for the bottom buttons. No startup sound but system is responsive.

-edit-

Attempted on my linux box and still no love. no device found.

Man, that makes this very frustrating. It sounds like CM10 is fully booting up then, but we can't see the screen. :( . I'm going to keep looking for a better copy of the drivers to see if I can integrate them.

On Linux, do you get any device listed when you run "lsusb"?

When this works on the lucid could it be ported to the connect Cuz broken out was ported to you guys and i was wondering a favor for a favor

If I get it functional, I'll post the kernel source, but you'll be on your own for getting CM10 to work as some of the lib files are very much phone specific.

Will try after work today. I agree that it seems to be fully booting because i get the volume up/down sounds, the vibrate when it gets volume down far enough, unlock tones, etc.
