Root Unlocking a phone and rooting

I know theres a different between rooting a phone and unlocking it so that it can be used with different carrier. Im just trying to confirm that.

Now is there a tuturial on how to unlock ones phone? Or is it even possible with Verizon?

I don't think it would be possible, not with 4G at least. You could possibly have it flashed over to cricket (not sure how you would do it but I know other VZW phones have been in the past) You would only have 3G however if it could be done. Any threads I've seen about the topic is someone trying to sell the ability not actually providing answers. I think it might be easier to get a 3g phone and get it flashed over, your battery should last longer that way at least.

I think you can with the incredible, again I do not know of any tutorials but it would be more likely as the phone has been out much longer and has no SIM/4G to work around

I remember awhile back the incredible could run on cricket. It did involve rooting and running a custom rom created just for that service. As for running it on ATT or T-Mobile i don't think it would be possible with the inc and definitely not possible with the bolt.

It could only be unlocked to work on Cricket. It can't be used on T-Mobile or AT&T as they use GSM for their 3g and Verizon uses CDMA. They aren't compatible. It also is impossible to use 4g as the Inc doesn't have an LTE radio.
