unlocking an S2

i need to unlock my S2, for selling purposes. have converted to the S3 dark side.

my S2 was bought in Oct 2011, originally on O2. when i try *#simlock# it shows Network Lock [ON], i always thought O2 sold phones unlocked, but there you go. contacted O2 about a week ago for an unlock code, still waiting. also tried chainfires unlocker, after about 15 mins of searching it can't find a code.

weird thing is, if i put a "GiffGaff" sim in it, it runs it fine. i think giffgaff runs off the back of O2, so maybe this is why its compatible. don't have access to any other sims from other networks, all my mates are on o2, so am stuck.

any ideas, thoughts, help peeps?

Assuming you are rooted..... I used galaxy s2 Sim unlock, free app from the play store, but this was muchearlier in the year!

I'm also on o2!

how do you work this app. mine did not unlock, it said it did. used an orange sim and the phone asked for a code?

If it's similar to Chainfire's app, it should have shown you the unlock code. You then simply enter that when prompted after inserting the 'alien' SIM.

No it doesn't give you a code it just unlocks it,

I had my vodaphone sim in when I did it the phone was locked to t-mobile.
