Impossible for me without device...
I've got a D160, unfortunately I can't give it away. Would it help to have an image (or one per partition) of the internal memory? Could also offer you an adb connection to it over ssh.

Edit: I'd also be willing to put some effort into helping to port it; I've got significant experience with C programming and unix administration, I am somewhat new to the Android world though, so there's quite a getting-started barrier..

I'm slightly unsure as to what's the correct way to install that. I figure that's the .zip which i'd eventually apply as an update from my sd card (been there while rooting). Do I still need to go through the "install bootloader" and "install CWMR" steps, and if so, using the D170 files for those (as listed in the first post)?
Sorry for the newbie questions.
