I've been keeping an eye on Amazon. Its been saying 3 - 5 weeks for about, well... 3 - 5 weeks now. I'm seriously >< this close to saying forget Otterbox, I'm going Seido. Which is sad because I'm not afraid to drop my ipod touch, which is in a defender. They offer a great product, but this whole keeping the customer in the dark thing is really getting old.
 
I'm selling my OtterBox Commuter if anybody is interested. PM me. Includes everything, only used for a few days, and the screen protector that came with it hasn't been used. Mint condition.
 
Im selling my Commuter as well. Used for about a month, not a thing wrong with it. Pm me for details.
 
I've read reports from other users that the Otterbox being sold by Radio Shack is actually the Commuter Series being sold under falsely as the Defender.
Be careful of sellers on Amazon as well, they are saying Defender. When you click the Defender link it takes you to a Commuter case.

Finally. If it's serious, a legit Otterbox Defender case for a Droid device.. I've been using a Moto Droid for the past few weeks, but definitely not satisfied with the case selection for that, so I will be switching to the Incredible once the otterbox is available. I can understand the difficulties of building a solid case with a slide out, but at least Otterbox should make a simple holster for their droid commuter case. Had Otterbox Defender for my last 2 bb's with no problems over 2 years. The convenience of one handed secure popping out the phone to answer a text is great. Now after waiting this long, lets hope the retail goes down quickly from the 49.95 advertised.
 
Well, forget what I said yesterday. Just checked Otterbox's website and its back to coming soon. If this case doesn't come out by the end of this month, the Trident Kraken might be a good alternative. I already made a thread about it so heres the link:

They look to be Defender clones. But they already have a leg up on Otterbox because they have told us a release date!

That website could be trying to pull the scam Radioshack and some sellers on Amazon were trying to pull. They would say that they have the Defender in stock but when you actually receive the case its a Commuter.

Have you looked at Otterbox's website? You can sign up so they send you an email when the case comes available.

I have signed up with otterbox to get an email alert.


I emailed youwirelessstore.com and the guy replied already. He said they had a date already set to receive the defender. Then otterbox pushed it back to the end of the month.. the site should be updated to preorder now.

I'm selling my commuter too... way to slippery. But a great case.

Did he tell you exactly what the first date Otterbox told him was? I'm just curious cause Otterbox would never release a date. But at least we have an idea when they will be released now.

Ya know, its kind of sad that I'm asking people on a forum this queston because the company would never tell the customer anything.:mad:

This is what the email said, to be exact, i cut and pasted it here.

" Sorry - these are still on pre-order with Otterbox and we just updated the site. The reason it showed that is because we initially had one date that was promised and then it got pushed back to the end of this month.

You are more than welcome to get your pre-order in now to guarantee a case once we get our shipment in."
 
Ok. Thanks. I was just curious if he gave an exact date since Otterbox never gave one. But at least we know now the end of the month is what Otterbox is telling sellers. Which means probably anytime now we could see them.
 
Finally got a reply back from onlyincredible.com.... the email read as follows...

"Hello, We apologize for the delay, unfortunately the defender case case still not been release from otterbox. We are expecting shipment within the next 14 business days. Once the product arrives it is shipped within 24hrs and an email is sent with tracking information for your package. We hope to have this resolved ASAP. Thank You"

So expecting it in 2 weeks I guess.

Business days are Monday - Friday. So actually we're looking at almost 3 weeks. 2 weeks would just be 10 business days. Well, at least this gives us a better time frame. And makes the Trident Kraken look a little more appealing since it should be out by the time the Defender come out.

Thanks for pointing that out.... I totally missed the "business" days! What's four more days anyway. I was just really eager to post this since you wanted a date to look forward to.
I've already ordered so it could be be another month and I'd still be in the same spot.

Oh well it'll get here when it gets here.
 
You guys/gals, might want to check that otterbox website on the defender case for the incredible again, and soon. You might be pleasantly surprised. I just ordered mines, :):):)
 
Well finally. Now I just have to choose. Wait for Amazon to have some in stock so I can use a gift card, or get immediate satisfaction but spend more money and order from Otterbox. Decisions, decisions.
