Root unrevoked 3.3 to 3.70 apps question

was this supposed to install the swype app?

that was the main reason i updated to the 3.3

Hmm.. I heard some of the new devices were getting Swype with Gingerbread. But I don't think the EVO was ever one of them. Could be wrong.

What exactly is your question? Unrevoked 3.3 just roots your phone. The official 3.70 OTA (still froyo) or any rom based off it includes swype.

Yea, unrevoked doesnt add any apps to your phone, except Superuser. Swipe was added with Sprint/HTC ota opdate a few weeks ago.

Or you could flash a custom/stock rooted ROM based on 3.70, then the new radios. That's pretty much always better than unrooting, updating, rerooting.

oh i thought the 3.3 includsed the ota update from last couple of weeks. that is why i rerooted it.

i am not brave enough yet to instal a rom

Again, unrevoked does NOT unstall anything other than superuser. It just roots your phone. The reason they updated it was because the latest Sprint/HTC update changed the hboot version, so they had to work around that.
