Root Unrevoked for Incredible (Recovery reflash tool/Easy root method)

you can already compile a kernel that supports wireless N with the root we currently have. just not as easy as a kernel packaged in a custom rom.
 
Will be available for linux, mac, and windows all at once. Also should support Evo, Incredible, and Desire if we ever get someone with one to help test and set a few things. To clarify it will require that you have root already. If you don't, please proceed with the other method for now to get it until we have a better option (which still is in the works).

You will be able to flash roms from a custom recovery once this tool is run.

Recovery is the only place NAND is unlocked. So you will still be unable to change any any system files while android is booted. Unrevoked is working on a complete nand unlock as we speak but that will not be released with this tool.
 
Someone please clear the fog a bit. I have rooted my phone using the unrevoked method. This allowed me to write super user permissions to the NAND in recovery mode via the computer. Is this correct? It also allows certain apps to access portions of the NAND here-to-for inaccessible before root. Am I still on track?

Now the next phase will allow us to overwrite the NAND with a custom ROM in recovery mode via the computer?

I'm just trying to get a clear layman's picture of what's been accomplished and will be accomplished in the near future. Following directions on how to root, install wifi tether, and drocap2 is one thing. Understanding how I got here is quite another. :)

You hit everything right on the head!
 
This will not help with root, this is for those who already have root. This tool will flash a new recovery, that will give us the ability to flash custom ROMs. Again, this tool will not give you root.
